Jason first found the mountains as an undergraduate in Bangor, North Wales during which time he extensively explored Wales. Since then he has walked, scrambled and climbed in the mountains throughout the UK, including ten years living in Scotland – this time as a postgraduate and Postdoc. He is familiar with all the mountain and moorland regions of the UK but most of his experience has been gained in Snowdonia and throughout the various regions in Scotland, especially in the Cairngorms in winter. And he has completed the 3 Peaks in 24 hours.
He also has mountaineering experience in Europe (Alps / Dolomites / Pyrenees / Carpathians) North African (Atlas including Jebel Toubkal 4,167 m) Iran (Mount Damavand 5,610 m) East Africa (Mount Kilimanjaro 5,895) and Japan.
He is a very experienced group leader and is qualified in outdoor first aid. And also leeds mountaineering training and expeditions for the UK military.
